My Story
THE ROYAL NAVY AND ROYAL MARINES CHARITY IS THE PRINCIPAL CHARITY OF THE ROYAL NAVY. WE EXIST TO SUPPORT SAILORS, MARINES AND THEIR FAMILIES, FOR LIFE.
Train like a Field Gunner, challenges around the numbers 7488 (the number of nautical miles from Portsmouth to Port Elizabeth where the challenge originated) and/or 1300 (the weight of a field gun in kg) every day for 18 days (the number of people in a Field Gun team).
Part 1 Out
Day 1: 7488 metres walk; 1300 seconds shadow boxing; 1300kg lifted (65x20kg KB swings)
Day 2: Walked 7488 steps and exercised for 7488 seconds with Thai Boxing training. 1300 repetitions (300 body weight exercises: press ups, sit ups and burpees followed by 1000 Indian Club swings)
Day 3: Walked 7488 steps, lifted 1300kg (65x20kg KB deadlifts) 1300 seconds shadow boxing with wrist weights.
Day 4: 7488 seconds of Thai Boxing, 1300 seconds of Indian Club swinging and 7488 steps walked.
Day 5: 7488 steps run and 1300kg lifted (65x20kg) KB squats.
Day 6: 7488 steps walked, 1300kg lifted (65x20kg) KB shoulder press, 1300 seconds shadow boxing with weights and 1300 seconds of Indian Club swinging.
Part 2 Back
Day 7: 7488 steps run, 1300kg lifted (65x20kg KB upright rows) and 13 Burpees (13 x 100kg body weight) 1300 kg.
Day 8: 7488 metres walked, 1300kg lifted (65x20kg KB swings, squats, deadlifts and shoulder press, 130 (10x13 sets) press ups.
Day 9: 7488 seconds of Thai Boxing, 130 press ups, squats and sit ups, 13 squats with a 100kg weight (1300).
Day 10: 7488 steps walked, 1300kg lifted (65x20kg KB deadlifts), 1300 seconds shadow boxing with weights, 1300 seconds Indian Club swinging.
Day 11: 1300 seconds of Indian Club swinging, 7844 steps walked, 7844 seconds of Thai Boxing, 130 sit ups, 130 press ups and 130 squats.
Day 12: 1300kg lifted (65x20kg KB swings), 7488 steps walked and 7488 steps ran as part of Pass the Baton - Action for Children.
Part 3 Home
Day 13: 7488 metres walked, 7488 steps ran 13 combined burpees and chin ups (Bodyweight 100kg) 13x100 = 1300kg lifted.
Day 14: 7488 steps ran, 1300 seconds of upper body exercises (a total of 130 - press-ups, dips and chin ups) and 7488 steps walked.
Day 15: 1300 seconds of shadow boxing, 7488 metres walked and 1300 seconds of Indian Club swinging.
Day 16: 7488 steps ran, 1300 seconds of body weight exercises finished with 13 combined burpees and chin ups (Bodyweight 100kg) 13x100 = 1300kg lifted.
Day 17: 1300kg lifted (65x20kg KB deadlifts), 7488 steps walked and 7488 steps ran.
Day 18: 7488 steps ran, 1300 seconds of body weight exercises and 7488 metres walked.
